Quick answer

This free Saudization calculator shows how many qualifying Saudis a profession rule requires in Saudi Arabia. Choose the rule, such as 70% procurement or 50% accounting, enter employees in covered roles and your current qualifying Saudis. It returns the rate in force on any date, Saudis required, your gap, the salary floor and the next scheduled increase.

Use this free calculator to check a Saudization profession rule against your own headcount. Pick the rule, enter how many employees you have in the covered roles and how many of them are qualifying Saudis. The result updates as you type.

An estimate from the rules we track, not legal advice or an official ruling. Coverage depends on each employee's registered occupation code. Confirm with MHRSD's procedural guide and your Qiwa account before acting.

How does the calculator work?

It applies one formula, the method set out in MHRSD's accounting procedural guide:

Saudis required = employees in covered roles x the rule's rate, rounded, with 0.5 rounding up.

It then compares that number with your qualifying Saudis and shows the gap. Rates, thresholds, salary floors and dates come from our Saudization rates database, where each rule links to its MHRSD decision or guide. Change the date to see when a rule starts or steps up.

Tourism, collective housing supervisors and wellness centers have rules that do not reduce to one rate per headcount. The calculator explains each one and links to the full rule.

What the calculator does not do

It does not work out your Nitaqat band. Nitaqat is a separate, company-wide test. Use our free Nitaqat calculator to estimate your band, and Qiwa for the official one. A company can be in a good Nitaqat band and still fall short of a profession rule, so check both.

It also cannot tell you which employees are covered. That depends on each person's registered occupation code. Our guide to mapping job titles to Saudi occupation codes explains how to check.

Frequently asked questions

01How do I calculate how many Saudis I need for a profession rule?

Multiply the number of employees in the covered occupations by the rule's rate, then round, with 0.5 rounding up under the method in MHRSD's accounting guide. For example, 10 procurement employees at 70% need 7 qualifying Saudis. Only Saudis who meet the rule's salary and other conditions count.

02Is this the same as the Nitaqat calculator?

No. Nitaqat rates your whole establishment by its overall Saudi share, using MHRSD's formula for your activity and size. Use our free Nitaqat calculator for that, and Qiwa for your official band. This tool covers profession rules, which set a separate minimum Saudi share for named roles such as procurement, marketing or engineering.

03Who counts as a qualifying Saudi?

A Saudi registered in a covered occupation who meets the rule's conditions. Several rules set salary floors, such as SAR 5,500 for marketing and SAR 8,000 for engineering, and accounting also requires SOCPA accreditation. A Saudi who misses a condition stays in your headcount but does not count toward the rate.

04Does the calculator show future rate increases?

Yes. Change the date to see the rate in force on any day. For phased rules such as accounting, it also shows the next scheduled step and how many qualifying Saudis that step would require on your numbers.

05How accurate is this Saudization calculator?

It applies the rates, thresholds and dates in our rates database, each linked to its MHRSD source. It is an estimate, not an official ruling. Coverage depends on each employee's registered occupation code, so confirm with the rule's procedural guide and your Qiwa account.
